Seek First...Rony was born in Kenya but the election violence of 2007 forced him to flee his homeland. For eight years he's been living as a refugee, first in Greece and now in the Netherlands. He experienced homelessness, exhaustion, and had lost vision for his life. Rony pursued political asylum, but his opportunities for a normal life in Europe are not possible.
After finding the church community, Amsterdam50, his story began to change and his hope was renewed. He began to find a greater faith in God and his hope was no longer dependent on organizations or other people to save him. During his stay in Amsterdam, many people have built into his life: He's learned how to study, manage a business, and how to equip others through coaching and discipleship. He has learned to choose faith over fear. And now? “It's time to go back,” he says. “I am ready now to go home and build up in Kenya what God has built in me.” He's looking to begin his life afresh in his own homeland, start a small business, and with great vision he desires to educate his neighbors in the ways of God and sustainability. But Rony needs a jump start. He's been able to save some money with his small cleaning business, but with the limited opportunities afforded him in Amsterdam he needs more help. He hopes to raise $5000 by the summer of 2015 for living expenses and capital for his business. Will you help Rony? |
